Specialization - Composites

Specialization - Composites
Spoiler: Show
The widespread use of composite materials (CM) in civil aircraft today has become the trend in the global aviation industry, and the most prominent representative of the new generation aircraft will be Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which dominated in the design of a new generation of materials, particularly composites. Obviously, to ensure the competitiveness of the domestic industry is necessary to have all of the tools that is available to foreign producers - a set of materials and technologies, know-how aerosystem and the development of the manufacture of products from the CM is urgently needed. The answer to the challenges of the time was the creation of a subsidiary of JSC "United Aircraft Corporation" (UAC), JSC "Aerocomposite." On what the goals and objectives set itself the newly created company, "AviaPort" asked to tell the director of the technology center aerosystem of "KLA" Yury Tarasov. We create ZAO "Aerocomposite" not so much as a manufacturer of standard products in the field of composites, but primarily as a developer of power of composite structures aerosystem for commercial aircraft. The fact that the creation of units and structures made of composite materials is distinctive and requires deep expertise of design, technological and industrial resources in the presence of a wide cooperation with Russian aerosystem and foreign aerosystem partners. - What are the goals of the new company? aerosystem - First, the creation of competitive products domestic aircraft. Composite materials offer a number of advantages over traditional materials used in the creation of aircraft. The main ones are high strength, rigidity and resource characteristics, aerosystem relatively low density and specific gravity, high temperature, corrosion and radiation aerosystem resistance, the ability to obtain design with desired properties for a particular technical problem. With the proper application of composite materials can reduce the weight of the construction by 25-30%, and the labor intensity of production aerosystem by 1.2-1.5 times. Moreover, they will provide an opportunity to create a design with the low costs for operation, new consumer properties. One example of increasing consumer properties - creation of high aspect ratio of the wing, which leads to improved fuel efficiency of the aircraft. On the other hand, one of the ways to reduce the cost of production - is to increase the degree of integrality created the design. In other words, there is a replacement assembly unit, manufactured from a number of separate parts, one part, manufactured from composite materials in a single molding. Thereby drastically reduces the complexity of manufacturing parts, and most importantly - the assembly work, which uses expensive skilled labor. Another aspect - to create a new wing, based on the progress made decisions similar to the one used today, Boeing, aerosystem Airbus, is inappropriate. Basically, in this case, we will always catch up with the leaders and is unlikely to extirpate ourselves forward. Therefore, we set the goal to make the next step, based on breakthrough solutions in the areas of science, design, materials, aerosystem technologies, and create a more attractive design for the consumer. Second, the task of creating a highly efficient production, based on breakthrough technologies and the rational organization of labor. Today we have no production, able to produce highly loaded structures, in particular wing of composite materials. JSC "VASO", JSC "KAPO. Gorbunov", JSC "Aviastar-SP" made the so-called hinged units of composite aerosystem materials: wing mechanization aerosystem (flaps, ailerons, spoilers, air brakes), tail (elevators, direction), multiple panels, hatches. This is mostly manual labor. Equipment and technologies used are, roughly speaking, at the level of the 80-ies of the last century. Though of course we have some modern technologies, aerosystem in particular, aerosystem at the JSC "VASO" mastered the production of integrated flaps manufactured in a single molding for the An-148 and Superjet-100. This is a major step forward. But in general, the production does not meet modern requirements. We plan to introduce a number of interesting technological solutions, aerosystem including the move to technology for autoclave molding. - What is the
