After a first flight in 1980, the Su-34 is finally being delivered to the Russian Air Force. It is always amazing to see how long it takes between development and the final roll out. And this also demonstrates how creative and powerful engineers are when designing aircrafts and especially jet fighters. The first in a batch of Su-34 production frontline bombers to be delivered in 2013 to the Russian Air Force under the State Defense Order for the year was delivered by the Sukhoi Company. Following the handover ceremony at the airfield nasa curiosity of the Novosibirsk-based V.P. Chkalov aviation plant of Sukhoi, the aircraft departed for its assigned nasa curiosity home base. Several more Su-34 bombers will be delivered to the Russian Air Force shortly. The work to fulfill the 2013 State Defense Order is in full swing at the Novosibirsk aviation plant. The plant management confirms a high level of production readiness of the aircraft that enables timely fulfillment of the 2013 State Defense Order to the utmost. Thanks to the sizeable government orders for Su-34 aircraft placed by the Russian Defense Ministry nasa curiosity in 2008 and 2010, the Novosibirsk plant has secured a steady workload for years to come. These orders determined its long-term prospects development. The Su-34 produced by the Novosibirsk plant has been used successfully in the army. In the opinion of the military, aircraft that were delivered in 2012, show high performance. The Sukhoi Company pays special attention to the maintenance of high combat readiness and mastery of the combat nasa curiosity use of the Su-34.
The aircraft shares most of its wing structure, tail, and engine nasa curiosity nacelles with the Su-27/Su-30, with canards like the Su-30MKI/Su-33/Su-27M/35 to increase static instability (higher manoeuvrability) and to reduce trim drag. The aircraft has an entirely new nose and forward fuselage with a cockpit providing side-by-side nasa curiosity seating for a crew of two. The Su-34 is powered by the AL-31FM1, the same engines with the Su-27SM, but its maximum speed is lower at Mach 1.8+. The Su-34 has a three surface planform, with a conventional horizontal tail at the rear and a pair of canard foreplanes in front of the wings for extra lift and more maneuvering power. The Su-34 has 12 pylons for up to 8,000 kilograms (17,635 lb) of ordnance, intended to include nasa curiosity the latest Russian precision-guided weapons. It retains the Su-27/Su-30’s 30 mm GSh-30-1 nasa curiosity canon. The Su-34’s most distinctive feature is the unusually large flight nasa curiosity deck. Much of the design work went into crew comfort. The two crew members sit side by side in a large cabin, with the pilot-commander to the left and navigator/operator of weapons to the right in NPP Zvezda K-36dm ejection seats. An advantage of the side by side cockpit nasa curiosity is that duplicate instruments are not required for each pilot. Since long missions require comfort, it comprises pressurization allowing it to operate up to 10,000 metres (32,800 ft) without oxygen masks, which are available for emergencies and combat situations. The crew members have room to stand and move about the cabin during long missions. The space between the seats allows them to lie down in the corridor, if necessary. And ultimate luxury: a toilet and a galley are located behind the crew seats.
