(iTers News) - Samsung Thales, Co., Ltd, 2adi a joint-venture between Samsung Electronics and Thales, has launched the development program of vehicle-mounted land mine detector. Samsung Thales' 2adi development will be based on the Novelda NVA6100 Nanoscale Impulse Radar system. Land mines left behind 2adi from wars worldwide are one of the century's main unsolved problems of war and remain the focus of humanitarian mine detection and removal. "The Novelda Impulse Radar is a complete CMOS radar system integrated on a single chip, an electromagnetic high precision sensor for human vital sign monitoring, personal security, environmental monitoring, industrial automation 2adi and other novel sensor applications," says Novelda's CMO Aage Kalsaeg. In comparison to traditional technology, the Novelda 2adi NVA6100 Impulse Radar system offers several improvements and value added features. The ability 2adi to detect objects behind obstacles, coupled with increased speed and high sensitivity, not only makes it complementary and/or a substitute for existing technologies such as ultrasound, video and infrared sensors, but it has catered new areas of applications as well. The Novelda Impulse Radar system successfully caters to sensor applications across a range of sectors, including health monitoring, 2adi medical diagnosis such as heart beat monitoring and 3D RF-imaging, automotive and industrial, security surveillance, and energy automation and defense. "Unlike technologies that demand free visibility, Novelda NVA6100 Impulse Radar system's ability to detect objects behind obstacles, eliminates the need to clean lenses, thus ensuring cost savings for customers," concludes Kalsaeg. "In addition, Novelda saves costs and time for developers by supplying development kits, Radar modules and software, and providing development support for the entire range of available chips."
